Similar to physical therapy, chiropractic care delivers powerful pain relief and restored function, movement and balance, but it focuses on spinal manipulation, also without drugs or surgery. By properly aligning your body’s musculoskeletal structure, chiropractic treatment can enable your body to heal itself. Improved movement and function helps to pump inflammation from the area of concern and get the nerves to function properly. It is especially effective for relieving back and neck pain. The most common reasons people see chiropractors are back pain, neck pain and headaches.
The mainstay of chiropractic is spinal manipulation, but chiropractic care may also include manual or manipulative therapies, postural and exercise education and ergonomic training. We can choose more gentle techniques which don’t involve the “crack” that makes some nervous with the activator or we can perform expert chiropractic maneuvers for those larger muscular patients. We teach you how to walk, sit and stand properly in order to limit or avoid the aggravating factors.Physical rehabilitation services at Advanced Spineworks provides lasting results and will prevent future episodes!
Physical rehabilitation is about relieving your pain and restoring your function. Advanced Spineworks brand uses a wide variety of tools and techniques to achieve those goals based on your specific injury or pain complaint to prevent the pain from coming back. At Advanced Spineworks I am in the business of breaking the pain cycle and avoiding future surgery and I often succeed where others have failed. I provide a unique approach and have been able to put pieces together that have been overlooked.
Our techniques include evidence-based kinesiology, electrotherapy, cold laser, exercise prescriptions, manual manipulation therapies, joint mobilization and health education to treat conditions such as chronic or acute pain, arthritis, soft-tissue injuries, cartilage damage, gait disorders and physical impairments caused by musculoskeletal, cardiopulmonary, neurological and endocrinological problems.
Physical rehabilitation includes prescription and assistance with specific exercises, hands-on manual therapy and manipulation, mechanical devices such as traction, and electrophysical modalities that include heat, cold, electricity, sound waves, light, assistive devices, prostheses, orthoses and other interventions designed to reduce or eliminate your pain and improve your ability to function and enjoy a better quality of life. We also provide Cold Laser as a powerful form of light therapy we use on soft-tissue injuries and those stubborn tendons to minimize swelling and pain, reduce muscle spasms and expand your range of motion. Cold laser will speed up healing times by up to a half or a third of the time. The quicker the patients response time to the injury the better.
Advanced Spineworks offers patients the Multi-Cervical Unit (MCU), and it’s the most effective and innovative system for pain relief. A system for the assessment of the weakness which becomes the rehabilitative solution for patients suffering from neck injury, whiplash, and general cervical spine disorders. Its advanced technology helps us perform objective evaluations and standardized treatment.
The MCU provides many benefits including:
· Decreased neck pain
· Improved daily function
· Improved range of motion
· Lasting results
· Improved neck strength
· Less headaches or vertigo
Reading. Driving. Lifting. Turning your head...
It's easy to take these movements for granted until something - like neck pain - happens to make them at the least, painful but more typically, impossible. Neck related injury is the 8th most common reason people visit their doctor - and it's estimated that about 70% of us will suffer from neck pain at some point in our lives. And many people are surprised to learn that whiplash related injuries are the most common cause of chronic neck pain – this type of injury related pain is at epidemic levels in our country.
Studies have shown that after MCU therapy, patient’s pain levels were reduced by 66 percent, strength levels improved by nearly 72 percent, and more than 90 percent of MCU patients made a full recovery! MCU therapy is also currently the only system that provides comprehensive diagnosis and treatment all in one system.
The MCU succeeds in treating neck pain where other therapies have failed because it emphasizes the restoration of neck movement and strength.
Neck pain can be caused by several factors the most common we see are:
· Herniated or bulged discs
· Degenerated discs
· Neck strains or injury
· Tension headaches
If you are suffering from neck pain, you know you have nothing to lose, call our office at 239-221-6200 and schedule your consult today!!
Advanced Spineworks brings cutting edge technology from BTE, a company that has brought state-of-the-art technology into clinics worldwide, such as the Eccentron™. Dr. Bryan Hunte has incorporated this cutting edge equipment into the practice for all his patients ranging from the athlete trying to perform to the elderly patient trying to avoid surgery. The eccentron takes advantage of the way the body truly builds strength; through focusing on the negative.
What are the benefits of using the Eccentron?
What is the Eccentron?
The Eccentron is a special eccentric training system. It is not to be confused for an elliptical, stepper, or bike, and is different from any therapy or athletic training device that has been seen or used before. The Eccentron uses eccentric exercises that allow strength training without over-exerting oneself or getting out of breath.
What is Eccentric Exercise?
Eccentric exercise is the act of muscles lengthening under force (eccentric contraction), such as when you’re lowering a weight, sitting down in a chair, going down a flight of stairs, or walking downhill. Eccentric muscle work occurs every day.
How do you use the Eccentron?
Using the Eccentron is quite easy and fun to use! You resist the moving pedals at your own strength ability (the system pushes while you resist). The Eccentron is targeted towards your individual needs and allows you to work at your own optimum level. The Eccentron visually shows each session’s performance and gathers data. You undergo periodic test to keep pushing the limits of your performance. Your continuing advancement over the full course of treatment can be illustrated at the end of the workout. Treatment and performance results varies by patient. The Eccentron offers many major advantages over traditional gym equipment. The Eccentron has the ability to workout the entire lower extremity. It will cover the thigh, ankle, knee and hip all at once in a progressively harder workout. The test on the Eccentron will reveal imbalance from one leg to the other which will reveal the compensation that occurs leading to further back pain. Imbalance is a big problem often remaining unaddressed through traditional methods of physical rehabilitation.
